Price range: £9.99 through £34.99

  • Effortless Repeatable Professional Finish – Provides a quick, simple solution for fitting a Toolstation (Hiatt Premium) tubular latch (see diagram for exact dimensions measured from my sample). The tubular latch installed in the photos is the “Premium Sprung Bolt Through Tubular Mortice Latch 64mm Black” available from Toolstation (product code 29974). This kit will work for any other Toolstation Hiatt Premium tubular latch (Toolstation codes 44688, 58386, 58911, 61612, 80028 etc).
  • Ultimate Compatibility and Stability – The lining jig is optimized for clamping on linings, even when doorstops and architraves are still in place. The door jig is optimized for clamping securely on doors with all clamp types. 4mm screw holes are provided on both as an alternative fixing method to clamps.
  • Cutting-Edge 3D Printing Technology – Designed and manufactured in the UK using tough PETG plastic and tuned print settings for maximum strength and durability.
  • User Friendly – Clearance cut-outs allow access for chiselling out corners with the door jig still in place. Built-in screw storage means you always have an alternative fixing method available. Inserts make pilot drilling the screw holes and fitting the dust box effortless.
  • Simple Setup – Centre marks are built into both jigs, making accurate positioning quick and easy. Integrated cut-outs make setting the recommended router depths for both the door and lining effortless.
  • Built to Last – The compact, lightweight and robust design is easy to store as a single package with the included hook, making it ideal for both DIYers and professionals.
  • Bearing Profiler Router Bit Required – Designed to be used with any guided template bearing profiler router bit up to 15mm in diameter. Trend C121BX1/4TC is recommended for optimum compatibility and performance.

Jig Usage

Designed to be used with a guided template profiler router bit up to 15mm in diameter. This sort of bit has a bearing that allows the blade to run around the guide without cutting it, I recommend the Trend 1/4″ 12.7mm x 9.5mm C121BX1/4TC (Toolstation code 41051). The router bit is not included.

To quickly set the router depth using the integrated cut-outs:

  • Check the your tubular latch matches the thickness in mm given on the jig near the arrows
  • The door depth side is labelled “D” e.g “3D” and the lining depth side is labelled “L” e.g “3L”
  • This will be the recess depth, do not proceed with these steps if it does not closely match your hardware
  • Turn the jig upside down with the blue side facing upwards
  • Place your cutter over the selected cut-out hole
  • Push the cutter as far as it will go into the cut-out then secure the blade at this depth
  • You have now set your cutter depth and are ready to recess your face plate

Once the depth has been set, secure the jig on your door or door frame in the correct location. Position the router carefully within the jig before switching it on. Once the cut has been made, ensure the router has fully stopped before removing it from the jig. These steps will help prevent accidental damage to the jig.

Note

Exact colour may vary subject to filament availability. Some small visual imperfections is normal for additive manufacturing, strength and function is not effected.
